When I started creating content for my website and social media to attract my target audiences on my e-learning platform, I always felt that content marketing and content strategy is the same. Little did I know that in a world where Content is considered the king, content marketing is a subset of the content strategy as a whole.

and this is exactly what I am going to do in our today's episode. I am going to bring clarity to you the way I did years ago for myself, the difference between Content Strategy and Content Marketing.

"Content Marketing is really like a first date. If all you do is talk about yourself, there won't be a second date." - David Beebe

Welcome to another episode of The Wolf of the Content Street Show with Miithyl. A Show made exclusively for Solopreneurs, artists and coaches to share with them the tips, tricks, hacks and much more related to content creation, marketing, strategy as well as Personal Branding.
In today's episode, we are going to discuss the difference between Content Strategy and content marketing.
So Let's begin

What is the meaning of Content Strategy?

Content strategy is what creates, delivers, and manages the right content for your audience in the right place and at the right time. You know how important it is to create high-quality content that resonates with your audience. This means you need a continual commitment to developing the right content strategy, which is an integrated set of user-centred and goal-driven choices about content at every stage of its life cycle.

What is Content Marketing in simple words?

Content marketing is a marketing strategy that consists of creating and sharing relevant articles, videos, podcasts, and other media to attract, engage, and retain an audience. This approach establishes expertise, promotes brand awareness, and keeps your business top of mind when it's time to buy what you sell.

So, What's the Different between both of them?

Content marketing is a form of marketing that focuses on creating and distributing valuable content to attract, engage, and retain a clearly defined audience.
Content strategy is a process for managing the creation and distribution of content to achieve specific goals.
The difference between content marketing and content strategy is that content marketing focuses on the promotion of your business or product through different channels. Content strategy focuses on how your company can create high-quality, relevant content to generate leads and conversions.

Content marketing and content strategy are two different things. Content marketing is about creating a piece of content for the sole purpose of promoting your product or service. Content strategy, on the other hand, is about creating a content plan that aligns with your business goals.
The research says that content marketing is more effective than content strategy in generating leads, but it doesn't say anything about the quality of those leads. A good way to strategize your content is to start with the end in mind. Know what you want to achieve before you start creating, and then work backwards from there.

You need both content marketing and content strategy to succeed.
You need to have a strategy before publishing content on your site. The strategy will help you stay on-brand, capture a voice, and publish at the right time that is conducive to your readers. Professional copywriters, content strategists and content marketing experts are vital to shaping a winning content marketing strategy. They can help you establish thought leadership, generate leads and achieve higher search engine rankings.
The idea of a good content strategy is not an obscure one. However, it can take a lot of time and effort to develop one.
